Atelier Sophie Krier
Rotterdam, Netherlands
Atelier Sophie Krier (Lux/B) is based in Rotterdam and explores the peripheries of the design field through collaborative projects in the public and social sphere. Film, language and spatial installations form her body of work. Krier has curated symposia on education, craft, and visual culture; current topics of study include the debt issue and our commitment to nature. Krier writes about design processes in the self initiated journal Field Essays (issued by Onomatopee). Between 2004 and 2009 Krier was head of designLAB (Rietveld Academie). She lectures and conducts international workshops regularly. In short, Krier develops tools for collective narration and reflection.
